Nov 06, 2021
Dr. Nelson Vetanze is a Colorado-based Chiropractor with nearly 50 years of experience in the field. Vetanze is passionate about his work and he's always on the lookout for modern improvements to the field of chiropractic medicine. Never complacent, Vetanze is confident in his ability to find and implement better, more efficient ways to care for the needs of each patient. This includes chiropractic CBD oil use.
What inspired you to get into chiropractic medicine?
“I was a pre med student for three years at Ohio University. I had to work every summer to pay for food and books. I worked in a steel mill. One summer I had a terrible injury to my neck and shoulder. I was in the hospital for two weeks and was in a lot of pain. My father, who also worked in the steel mill took me to a chiropractor. We had to go up twelve long steps to get to his office. He performed a cervical adjustment, and I about threw him out the window because I didn’t know what it was. But my pain was completely gone. I said ‘I am going to do what you do.’ Against my parents wishes, I dropped out of med school and I have no regrets.”
When did you first become aware of the benefits of CBD oil?
“Three or four years ago, I had a friend suffering with Leukemia. His numbers went down so far that he was going to live. He told me he was taking chemo and then CBD. The CBD helped boost his appetite, sleep better, get his body under control and helped him get through it. I said ‘What is this?’ So, I tried it for myself. I figured if it could do that for him, how could it hurt me. I haven’t missed a day, taking it for nearly 5 years.”
You worked with the Broncos for a long time. Has that experience influenced your perception of CBD?
“It would have made a difference. Those players are given a handful of b.s. drugs that are dangerous and killing their liver. No basketball or baseball player has to worry about being tested. Only an idiot would say cannabis is a performance enhancer. They [NFL] would rather let their players die and destroy their bodies using heavy medications and incorrect injury treatment.”
Dr. Vetanze served as the team chiropractor for the Denver Broncos football team and has treated over 800 NFL players. He still treats numerous professional and former professional athletes. He strongly believes that a lack of medical oversight has lead to unnecessary injury protocol and medication dependence. Chiropractic CBD use as well as other forms of cannabis could make a big difference in the health of players.
“A trainer has less education than a physical therapist. He is a trainer. They usually go through two year programs. They come and work for a professional team. Every state allows the trainer to work under the license of an M.D. (medical doctor). So, here is an M.D. at his office somewhere, doing whatever he is doing. The trainer is not talking to the doctor about each injury, so he is just handing out drugs and injections.”
What kind of issues are your typical patients dealing with?
“I have a lot of clients that come in with back discomfort and inflammation. I don’t do a quickie one minute bone crack. I’m trying to take care of all these issues and people are so inflamed from things like bad diet, illness, sleep deprivation. CBD helps you to relax your body, calm you down and soothe the brain.”
Along with chiropractic CBD use, Dr. Vetanze’s office also offers a plethora of complementing treatments to support the work he does.

Your clients can’t have you at their constant disposal. What do you have them do at home to take care of themselves?
“Every condition is different and I am trying to be a musculoskeletal practice. I tell them not to exercise until everything is alighted. I have stretches and things I ask them to do like taking epsom salt baths. I discourage them from taking medications and encourage them to use CBD oil.”
Why do you feel CBD is important for long term health and wellness?
“I have certain clientele that get banged up alot. CBD is not going to kill your liver or be addictive like oxycontin and other pain meds. For me, if I find something that is good I’m going to do it. I am always looking for new ways to improve. People ask, “Why didn’t I think of that.” It wasn’t on you mind. I’m always looking for what’s next. What’s better. Find something and make it better.
I love it. I had a retired player come in today, He’s a mess. He asked, ‘Got any more of that cream [Receptra Targeted Topical]? I can have three or four of them?’ I asked him, ‘What, do you eat them?!’ It works. I had a pro baseball player from the Yankees come into my practice. I did some work on him and used CBD. He loved it and bought all this stuff to take back to the team.”
Why is Receptra your top choice for chiropractic CBD use?
“Receptra CBD oils have various strengths. Some have more CBD than others. I have never had any complaints.
Dr. Vetanze has tried multiple CBD products and had them tested for purity and efficacy. He finds Recepta to be the number one in all areas for chiropractic CBD use.
“It has personally changed my life. It helps me sleep. It helps me to relax. These products have affected how I live.”
